3 Benefits of Virtual Events, from Tyler Whitehead

3 Benefits of Virtual Events, from Tyler Whitehead

Virtual platforms allow us to reach a broader audience than ever before, operate on smaller budgets, and interact with our teams in more specific and powerful ways. Our Marketing Communications Director and host of this year’s Americas Virtual LIVE sat down with Nu Skin West President, Tyler Whitehead. They had a conversation on the benefits of Virtual Events. Here’s what Tyler had to say.

Q: Tyler, why do we see such a spike in virtual events across the board, as we did at the recent Nu Skin Americas Virtual LIVE event?

A: It’s because of inclusivity, Annie. Registration to virtual events is higher because the commitment is lower, in a way that allows them to stay home with their families and not pay the cost of travel. The fact that sales leaders can join in without taking time away from family and other responsibilities, while their guests—even those with only limited interest—means they can fulfill their curiosity in a no-pressure environment. On top of that, attendees can go back and view anything they missed, re-watch an inspiring message, or conveniently share highlights with others.

Q. Tyler, we know we had great success with our last virtual event, and it may not be Nu Skin’s last. Do you see other organizations in the industry also hosting more and more virtual events?

A.Definitely. For other organizations, they will appreciate the profitability. We loved that there were no travel costs for attendees at our virtual event. Other organizations will love that there are no venue fees or employee travel, and related expenses for corporations result in savings that can be reallocated more impactfully.

Q. Last question for today, Tyler. What is one of the most significant benefits of virtual events?

A. For now, it ensures everyone is safe and comfortable, and the inclusivity factor allows so much event access. But in the future? It will be personalization. A major benefit of virtual over physical events is the opportunity for personalization. Data is easily acquired in a virtual format and can help event planners fine-tune the content of future digital conferences. And in a market where 63% of consumers expect personalization as a standard, virtual events help us cater to everyone’s needs.

While the value of in-person interactions and one-on-one networking will never go away, the future of business in the direct selling industry won’t single out virtual events as stand-alone presentations. Rather, they will incorporate them with face to face involvement as complementary, engagement-driven experiences that extend well beyond a computer screen, leaving no question that virtual events are here to stay.
